Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about RFID Labels
An RFID label integrates a microchip and antenna into a standard garment label. The chip stores a unique product identifier that can be read wirelessly — enabling automated inventory counting, anti-counterfeit verification, and supply chain tracking without line-of-sight scanning.
UHF (860–960 MHz) is standard for retail inventory — long read range (3–8m), fast bulk scanning through handheld reader or RFID tunnel. HF (13.56 MHz, NFC) is used for consumer-facing authentication (smartphone scanning), with shorter range. Many brands use both.
Yes — RFID inlays can be integrated into woven labels, satin labels, and hang tags with no visual difference from standard labels. The chip and antenna are embedded in the label substrate and invisible to consumers.
Typically: EPC (Electronic Product Code) encoding product type, serial number, and brand. Additional data (colour, size, origin, manufacture date) can be stored in user memory. The EPC links to your product database for full item-level intelligence.
Yes — NFC labels in particular enable consumers to tap their smartphone to verify product authenticity against a brand-hosted database. Combined with serialisation (unique per-item EPC), this provides strong anti-counterfeit capability.
Our waterproof RFID labels withstand 50+ machine washes at 40°C. Chips and antennas are encapsulated and tested to ISO 18000-6C wash durability standards.
Yes — we can pre-encode labels with your EPC data, serialised in sequence or from your provided encoding file. Labels are supplied ready to integrate into your system.
500 pieces for standard UHF woven RFID labels. Lower minimums for NFC sticker labels. First order includes integration support and reader compatibility testing.
Compatible with Zebra, Impinj, Alien, and Honeywell readers. EPC Gen 2 standard ensures compatibility with all major retail RFID systems including Nedap, Detego, and SML.
We provide chip selection guidance, antenna design optimisation for your specific garment type, encoding specification support, and reader compatibility testing. Our RFID team has deployed solutions for 50+ retail brands.
